Flatbed Semi-trailer

A flatbed semi-trailer, as the name suggests, is a completely flat, open cargo platform without siderails or a roof. It is one of the simplest and most versatile semi-trailers, known for its extreme flexibility and versatility, earning it the nickname "universal vehicle."

Main Structure and Features

1. Flat Deck

Material: Typically constructed of solid wood planks (wear-resistant and resilient) or patterned steel plates (more durable) laid on a heavy-duty steel beam.

Surface: The steel plate surface often features a non-slip pattern to increase friction and prevent cargo from sliding.

2. Gooseneck

The towing pin area is elevated above the main cargo platform, forming a step. This design not only ensures connection to the tractor but also reduces the height of the main cargo platform, increasing transport stability.

3. Lashing System

This is the heart and soul of the flatbed. Tie-down holes or hooks are located throughout the cargo platform, allowing for multi-angle, high-strength securing and lashing of cargo using tools such as chains, wire ropes, and straps.

4. Landing Gear

Located at the front of the vehicle, it supports the vehicle when the tractor is moving away.

5. Optional Features:

Foldable/Removable Side Rails: Temporarily installed to transport loose cargo and prevent spillage. Ladder/springboard: used to facilitate the up and down movement of forklifts or small equipment
