Skeleton Semi-trailer
Product DescriptionMain Structure and Features
1. Main Beams
This is the core component of the vehicle, typically welded together from two high-strength steel longitudinal beams and several cross beams. It forms the vehicle's "frame" and primarily bears the vehicle's weight.
2. Gooseneck / Kingpin
This raised structure at the front of the vehicle connects to the saddle of the tractor (front end) and bears a portion of the vehicle's weight.
3. Twist Locks
This is a hallmark feature of skeletal trucks. Installed at the four corners (and sometimes in the center) of the truck frame, it secures the container's corner fittings. The locks can be rotated 90 degrees manually or pneumatically to lock or release the container.
4. Landing Legs
This supports the front weight of the vehicle when the tractor is moving away.
5. Suspension and Axles
Usually single-axle, dual-axle, or tri-axle, the suspension system often uses leaf springs to ensure load-bearing capacity.
